Celtic Goddess of Mist, Fand is a daughter of Danu and The Morrigan's sister. She is also Manannán's wife and Niamh's mother.

When not flying around as a sea bird, Fand appears as a pale blue-skinned elf with dark hair and white eyes. Her beauty, triggered by the mystery surrounding her instead of her pure appearance, baffles a large number of Gods.

As Goddess of Mist, she is known to cover Ireland in a deep misty cloak and her role is to keep the island's mysteries intact to the outside world. A lot happened in Ireland since the arrival of the Tuatha Dé Danann, but most of it was kept a secret to mere mortals thanks to Fand.

Very quiet, she married Manannán mainly because of his discretion and the mystery surrounding his origins, which he never talks about. However, she is far from faithful and her most famous affair happened with the Godborn Cúchulainn.

The Godborn and the Goddess first met when Cúchulainn hurled rocks to Fand, flying by as a sea bird. Later the Goddess came back in her full appearance and whipped Cúchulainn until he fell on the ground, nearly dead. Merciful at the last minute, Fand healed the Godborn and asked him to repay his deed by coming with her into Tir na nÓg and helping her defeat fomorians besieging the Godrealm. Cúchulainn accepted, without much of a choice, and repelled the fomorians…for a time. Meanwhile, he and the Goddess became lovers.

However, the relationship did not last as Cúchulainn's wife, Emer, learned about her husband's affair and traveled to Tir na nOg - thanks to the Godrealm and Ireland being almost merged together at the time - with friends of hers armed with knives, in order to make the Goddess pay for stealing her husband. Fand acknowledged Emer's virtue and passion and leaving Cúchulainn to her, stating that Emer was worthy of her husband.

Manannán, learning about the affair as well, used Lir's misty cloak of invisibility to hide Fand from Cúchulainn's sight so they can never meet again. Afterwards, he made Cúchulainn and Emer drink a potion of forgetfulness so they would both forget all that had happened.

Fand's Godborns are, like their mother, adepts of discretion or mystery. Anything related to their lives is known to none but themselves. They are usually asocial people, as the company of others is filled with temptations to reveal information. But behind their masks of mystery are hidden truly passionate personalities, able to dive head on into any kind of challenge as long as they are not forced to reveal their deeds. They are drug cartels accountants, copilots in pan-continent races or advisors of famous personalities.
