Lord of Duat, the Egyptian Underworld, Osiris is Isis' brother-husband and Set's brother and sworn enemy.

Nowadays Osiris has the looks of a mummified corpse, but it hasn't always been this way. Before his death, he was a tall, thin, pale-skinned and dark-haired God and was Atum Re's heir.

When Isis forced Re to reveal his name, a power shift quickly followed as the Sun God lost the part of his power which made him fit to rule over the other Gods. Osiris was then chosen as the new ruler of the Neter. But Set, out of jealousy, plotted to kill his brother and succeeded, taking over the lead over the pantheon.

Osiris body was hidden by Isis in the Botu swamps with Sobek's help but Set found it during a hunting party. Mad of anger, Set cut the body limb by limb and scattered the pieces all over Egypt. With the help of Anubis, Isis gathered all the limbs but the genitals. Realizing her husband would never the same being and be able to rule Neter again, she took the initiative to conceive Horus out of the dead corpse of her husband and with the help of both her sons, she gave Osiris his life back. In order to protect him from Set's ire, she sent him to Duat to become its ruler with the help and protection from Anubis.

Osiris is now ruling over the Immortal lands of Duat and does his best to make his pantheon prevail over its rivals. As a God of Death sitting in the Hall of Two Truths, Osiris is unable to comprehend the Deva's ways to treat souls. They are too soft !

Like their father, his children are entitled to make their beliefs and their pantheon prevail over others'. And they can be ruthless while doing so. They also have a natural affinity with abilities linked to Death and usually find the company of souls more appealing than the living's.
